In the comfort of my own home and maybe in PJs, I can prepare these super delicious not-so-little pouches of heavenly goodness. I’m talking about the Shengjian Bao (生煎包). Hot and Juicy right out of the pan. Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. It’s so good, y’all! I’m sure I can eat a few of these.
I embarrassingly ordered an absurd amount after my excitement of seeing such a huge variety of dumplings and baos. We followed the instructions and were pleased that we could actually steam delicious XLB's at home though it took us a few tries to make them without the thin skin popping. The pan fried bao's are our favorite. Love how great the ingredients are!
These shenjian baos are my absolute favorite of all dumplings and you made them just perfectly. The right amount of fluffiness to the skin paired with meat and cabbage filling is just heavenly. Thank you for making delicious and authentic dumplings and delivering them to the Bay Area! We are blessed.
You know there's something special when there is something hand crafted so well, and created so that all you have to do is cook it and it feels like it's fresh...and it feels like home. So excited to have been able to experience these in Vegas! Thanks for making me feel like I was back at home in CA!
Very easy to cook and super delicious!
This was my first time ordering. I cooked these in a frying pan according to the directions and it was pretty simple. My husband checked them with a temperature gage to make sure the meat was up to temperature. They aren’t very big but the description was right. I was already full after eating 3 of them. I didn’t need any sauce to accompany it. I thought they had great flavor and texture and definitely tasted homemade, a lot better than buying frozen ones from the grocery store for sure.
These are really delicious and such a treat to have at home whenever I want. My only criticism is that they are small. I wish they were bigger.
The bun is light and the filling moist and delicious. There is plenty of filling, not like others where you get mostly bun. The video is very helpful on how to cook, but I put less water. Do keep them upside down on the plate like the video. Else it can make the crispy bottom get soggy even as you eat. That’s how nice and juicy the filling is. Love these.
These are excellent - main thing is that unlike most of the others, they are not too salty. They focus on flavor, not salt. My mom (senior citizen from overseas) is very very picky and specifically asked me to get an extra bag for her.
